The obligation to bear only five days of the employee's medical leave per month was adopted by the Senate

The employer will be required to pay only the first five days of the first sick leave, if the employee receives, during a period of 30 calendar days, several sick leaves for temporary incapacity for work.

Until now, the employer had to bear the related compensation for the first five days of each sick leave received by the employee, it writes avocatnet.ro.

Specifically, if an employee goes on sick leave for work incapacity, and then goes on another sick leave before 30 calendar days have passed, the employer will bear the compensation from the first sick leave for five days, and the compensation for the second sick leave will be settled from the FNUASS (National Single Health Insurance Fund).

The amendment only targets sick leave for temporary incapacity for work.
