Investment grants for SMEs were adopted through the Government Emergency Ordinance

The Government approved, on Thursday, the emergency ordinance on the granting of investment grants for small and medium-sized enterprises, totaling 400 million euros.

The Minister of Investments and European Projects, Marcel Boloş, announced that there will be two stages of granting grants, as follows:

received will have grants ranging from 50,000 euros to 200,000 euros, intended for production/service provision capacities. However, the limit will be five times the turnover achieved in 2019.

At this stage, areas such as education, health, social assistance and services provided to the population are targeted.

"The Romanian Government, through the package of economic and social measures, committed to providing grants for investments worth 400 million euros and today this commitment has been fulfilled" - Marcel Boloș.

Second will be for restoring the resilience of SMEs affected by the crisis, with grants ranging between 50,000 and 500,000 euros. Also, within the limit of five times the turnover achieved in 2019.

This will include those working in construction, trade, vehicle repair, and transportation, among others.

"Equipment, machinery, specific facilities will be paid for, so everything that this part of investments means related to the capitalization of SMEs and the restoration of resilience capacities" - Marcel Boloș.

The consultation guide will be published on June 22, then the consultation period will last until July 4, the call will be launched on August 16, while the signing of financing contracts will take place between September 1 and October 31, 2022.
