RO e-Invoice and RO e-Transport become mandatory from July 1

RO e-Invoice and RO e-Transport will become mandatory from July 1.

The RO e-Transport system will monitor the transport of goods on the national territory and is intended to be a new reporting system aimed at contributing to the reduction of tax evasion.

Failure to comply with the provisions will attract fines of up to 50,000 lei for individuals and up to 100,000 lei for legal entities, to which will be added the confiscation of the value of the undeclared goods.

The Ministry of Finance, through the National Agency for Fiscal Administration and the Romanian Customs Authority, will monitor through RO e-Transport high-tax risk products transported on the national territory, the system being interconnected with RO e-Invoice and Traffic Control, writes Agerpres.

Organic Consulting offers a wide range of services, from company formation or hosting of the registered office to tax consulting or financial accounting.

On the other hand, the Ro e-Invoice system was launched in March 2020 by the Ministry of Finance and the National Tax Administration Agency, in order to streamline the collection of taxes and fees, mainly aiming to improve and consolidate the degree of VAT collection and prevent/combat tax evasion.

Companies that sell goods considered to present a high risk of tax evasion, such as vegetables, fruits, alcoholic beverages, clothing and footwear, will be required to communicate invoices, including through the national Ro e-Invoice system.

Taxpayer sellers will be able to connect to the RO e-Invoice system using the qualified digital certificate used to access the Virtual Private Space. Then, the invoice will be drawn up in .xml format, considered the original copy of the invoice, if it is accompanied by the electronic signature of the Ministry of Finance.

Registration in the RO e-Invoice Registry is carried out by submitting form 084, the same form being used for deletion.
