CNIPMMR calls for a national program dedicated to start-ups like the "Romania Start-up Revolution"

The President of the National Council of Small and Medium-sized Private Enterprises in Romania (CNIPMMR), Florin Jianu, states that Romania needs a national program dedicated to start-ups like the "Romania Start-up Revolution".

"Economic entry must receive a new boost and be at the center of public policies, as it is essential that as many young people as possible are introduced to the labor market. It is necessary to have a national program dedicated Start-ups such as the CNIPMMR proposal 'Romania Start-up Revolution' which will help tens of thousands of young people enter the economy or initiatives regarding the establishment of training companies which will allow lowering the age for business beginners to 16 years old" - Florin Jianu.

Florin Jianu's proposal comes after the National Institute of Statistics published the latest data on employment and unemployment rates in 2022 on Thursday, April 20, which shows that:

The youth employment rate (15-24 years old) was 19.7% and is decreasing compared to previous years (2021- 21.2%, 2020 and 2019-2.5% and 2018-20.4%)

The highest unemployment rate was recorded among young people (15-24 years old), 22.8% (21.6% for men compared to 24.9% for women and by urban residence area 17.9% compared to 25.3% in rural areas)

Thus, according to the INS, the graph of the evolution of the employment rate indicates that the only categories that decrease are those represented by young people (15-24 years old) and the elderly (65-74).
