Number of job vacancies on the rise

The number of job vacancies was 40 thousand in the third quarter of 2023, an increase of 600 compared to the previous quarter and a decrease of 5,300 compared to the same quarter of 2022.

The estimated job vacancy rate for the third quarter of 2023 was 0.78%, up by only 0.01 percentage points compared to the previous quarter, informs the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

Compared to the same quarter of 2022, the number of job vacancies decreased by 5.3 thousand, and the job vacancy rate decreased by 0.12 percentage points.

In the third quarter of 2023, the highest rates of jobs vacancies were recorded in financial intermediation and insurance (1,54%), entertainment, cultural and recreational activities (1,51%), respectively in the production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning (1,48%).

Over a quarter of the total number of job vacancies was concentrated in the manufacturing industry (10.5 thousand vacancies), and the rate value was 0.96%.

The public sector accounted for 20.51% of the total number of job vacancies.

Thus, 3.7 thousand vacant positions were found in public administration, 2.5 thousand vacant positions in health and social assistance, and two thousand vacant positions in education.

At the opposite pole, the job vacancy rate recorded the lowest values in the extractive industry (0.23%), construction (0.30%), and other service activities (0.34%).
