More and more companies are suspending their activity: Data published by ONRC

12,523 companies suspended their activity in the first 10 months of 2023.

The figure represents an increase of 2.76% compared to the same period in 2022, according to data published by the National Trade Register Office (ONRC).

Most companies that suspended their activity during the mentioned period were from Bucharest, namely 1,475 (a number increasing by 23,99% compared to January-October 2022), writes Agerpres.

Cluj counties follow, with 826 suspended companies (increasing by 41.68%), Braşov – 577 (plus 12.04%), Iaşi – 541 (plus 0.56%) and Bihor – 484 (plus 2.33%).

At the opposite pole, the fewest suspensions were recorded in the counties of Giurgiu - 80 (down by 25,23% compared to the first ten months of 2022), Ialomiţa - 80 (plus 15,94%), Tulcea - 84 (minus 22,94%) and Covasna - 91 (minus 5,21%).

By activity area, the highest number of suspensions was recorded in wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, respectively 3,062 (-11.5%), in professional, scientific and technical activities – 1,232 suspensions (plus 13.34%) and information and communications – 1,118 suspensions (+38.54%).
