Payrolls will only be kept for five years

The legislative proposal that payroll records be kept for only five years was promulgated by the president today.

Thus, starting in 2023, employers will only have to keep payroll records for five years, not 50 years, as is currently the case.

In this regard, the employer will have to submit, for the income in question, the information declaration regarding the tax withheld at source on income beneficiaries (form 205) or the declaration regarding the obligations to pay social contributions, income tax and the nominal record of insured persons (form 112).

The new law aims to simplify the activity of employers, given that the state now has computerized records regarding salaries and related taxes, writes Lawyernet.
