Romania, second in the EU in terms of inflation rate

The annual inflation rate has decreased slightly in Romania, but our country is far from the European Union average (4.91% p.a.).

9.2% was the inflation rate in Romania in September 2023, compared to 9.2% in August 2023, according to data published today by Eurostat.

Romania is surpassed only by Hungary (12.21% per year) in the top EU member states with the highest inflation rates.

At the opposite end, the EU member states with the lowest annual inflation rates were the Netherlands (negative annual inflation of minus 0.3%), Denmark (0.6%) and Belgium (0.7%).
