Fewer job vacancies in Q2 2023

The number of job vacancies was 39.4 thousand in the second quarter of 2023, down by 7.7 thousand compared to the previous quarter.

The estimated job vacancy rate1 for the second quarter of 2023 was 0.77%, down 0.16 percentage points compared to the previous quarter, informs the National Institute of Statistics.

Compared to the same quarter of 2022, the number of job vacancies decreased by 6.6 thousand, and the job vacancy rate decreased by 0.14 percentage points.

In the second quarter of 2023, the highest job vacancy rates were recorded in financial intermediation and insurance (1.60%), production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning (1.43%), respectively water distribution; sanitation, waste management, decontamination activities (1.39%).

Over a quarter of the total number of job vacancies was concentrated in the manufacturing industry (10.7 thousand vacancies), and the rate value was 0.97%.

The budgetary sector accounted for 19.51% of the total number of job vacancies. Thus, 3.7 thousand vacancies were found in public administration, 2.8 thousand vacancies in health and social assistance, and 1.1 thousand vacancies in education.

At the opposite pole, the rate job vacancies recorded the lowest values in the extractive industry (0.22%), respectively in construction and education (0.32% for each).

The fewest job vacancies were found in the extractive industry and in real estate transactions (0.1 thousand vacancies for each).
