Projects worth 25 million euros have been approved to stimulate innovation and technological development in Romania

The Ministry of Investments and European Projects, through the Managing Authority for the Competitiveness Operational Program, announces the signing of contracts for projects financed under the third call for projects under Action 1.1.1 Large R&D infrastructures – Project type: Projects for innovation clusters, Priority Axis: I. Research, technological development and innovation (R&D) in support of the economic competitiveness and business development of the OPC.

The specific objective of this action is to increase scientific capacity in the areas of smart specialization and health.

Eligible beneficiaries for this are: start-ups innovative companies, small and medium-sized enterprises and large enterprises, as well as research and knowledge dissemination organizations, non-profit organizations and other affiliated economic operators, organized in the form of Innovation Clusters.

Innovation clusters are structures or groups organised by independent parties (such as innovative start-ups, small and medium-sized enterprises and large enterprises, as well as research and knowledge dissemination organisations, non-profit organisations, other affiliated economic operators and other authorities and public institutions which can provide specialist support in research, technological development and innovation or in providing the testing environment for the innovative product in conditions as close as possible to real ones) designed to stimulate innovative activity by promoting the sharing of equipment and the exchange of knowledge and expertise and by effectively contributing to knowledge transfer, networking, information dissemination and collaboration between enterprises and other organizations in the cluster.

Within this action, 7 projects were selected for financing and contracts were signed, with a total value of 125,640,999.70 lei, of which the total non-refundable value was 67,182,534.07 lei, representing 57,105,154.01 lei ERDF and 10,077,380.06 lei BS.
