The ceiling of the IMM Plus aid scheme could be increased

The Minister of Finance, Marcel Boloș, announced that the possibility of supplementing the budget of the IMM Plus aid scheme with 20% is being analyzed.

The additional amount can only be used for investments, not for working capital.

"We had a discussion with the representatives of the guarantee funds in which we analyzed the status of the distribution of loans guaranteed so far through IMM Plus, because the budget of 12.5 billion lei has been used almost in full," said Boloș.

"We agreed that we are analyzing the possibility of supplementing the scheme's budget with approximately 2.5 billion lei, as allowed by the European Commission regulation, provided that we ensure access to financing for companies that do not have the necessary amounts for investment projects, not for working capital. We would thus ensure a rebalancing of the share of investment loans in the total loans guaranteed under IMM Plus. It is a concrete way to support the development of SMEs in the broader context of supporting investments in the economy, with benefits in increasing competitiveness and strengthening the growth potential of SMEs," the minister added.

The SME Invest Plus state aid scheme started this year on April 29 and will end on June 30.
