The minimum wage will increase from July 1st.

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu announced, on Thursday, the increase in the minimum wage starting July 1.

Thus, the gross minimum wage in the economy will increase from 3,300 to 3,700 lei.

"From July 1, the minimum wage will increase to 3,700 lei gross. At the same time, we will maintain until the end of the year the facility granted to employers regarding the 200 lei exempt from taxes. We are in the right direction towards implementing the European minimum wage," the chief executive said, according to Biziday.

The last increase in the minimum wage took place in October, when it increased from 3,000 lei to 3,300 lei.
